UNCOMUN - Understanding Contrasts in High Mountain Hydrology in Asia
Dates: 2013-2017
Funding: Swiss National Science Foundation

Principal Investigator: Dr. Francesca Pellicciotti
Glaciers are important for the water cycle of big Asian river systems. Due to the lack of data and the complexity of the processes only few is known about the response of glaciers in a changing climate. The aim of this project is to understand the glacio-hydrological processes of a glacierized catchment in the Central Himalayas, Nepal, through a combination of numerical modelling, field observations and remote sensing methods.
